Lisette Lavergne is a native New Yorker from Washington Heights. A seasoned attorney with over 7 years of legal experience, Lisette specializes in business, entertainment, immigration, and intellectual property law. Her diverse client list includes authors, artists, managers, musicians, political asylum seekers, singers, songwriters, sports agents and businesses in the cosmetics, marketing, real estate, retail, and entertainment industries.

Throughout her life, Lisette has been passionate about global issues, human rights, women's rights, and the entertainment industry. She has been involved with Dominican Women's Development Center, among numerous other community organizations, which have led the fight for immigrants and promoted race and gender equality. Prior to her legal career, Lisette was an actor performing social issue theatre, most notably for Hospital Audiences Inc. and George Street Playhouse Touring Theatre Company. Through the arts, she addressed various issues such as HIV, alcoholism, homelessness, and racial intolerance. Lisette was involved with various efforts to promote the arts throughout New York City including the Harlem Foundation for the Arts and Culture.

At law school, Lisette interned with reputable legal and artistic institutions as well as enforcement agencies such as Bertelsmann Music Group (currently SONYBMG), Volunteer Lawyers for the Arts and the Civil Rights Bureau of the New York State Attorney General's Office. Upon graduating law school, Lisette worked as an Associate at one of the oldest and largest law firms in the United States, McCarter & English, where she practiced commercial litigation and served on the diversity committee. In addition, Lisette worked on the corporate transactions of a leading investment banking firm, including reviewing and analyzing agreements to ensure compliance with securities regulations.

Her commitment to equalizing the 'playing field' and her love of sports led her to become involved with Latino Sports Initiative Foundation (LSI). LSI was formed to promote the sports industry within the Latino community. Through LSI, Lisette organized conferences co-sponsored by Major League Baseball in the Dominican Republic and assisted LSI in marketing efforts. As a result, she has fostered relationships with agents, players, and sports journalists in the Dominican Republic.

Lisette provides effective and dedicated counsel to her clients by combining her sophisticated business acumen, affinity for diverse cultures, and fluency in Spanish and French.. She is licensed to practice in New Jersey; pending in Washington D.C. and a graduate of Rutgers-Newark Law School. While at law school, she served as a member of the well-regarded law school journal, Women's Rights Law Reporter. Prior to law school, she attended Hunter College in New York and studied at La Sorbonne in Paris for an academic year.
