Salmen Navarro & Associates zealously advocates for their clients in criminal proceedings because we understand that pleading guilty or being convicted of a crime and/or a violation in the United States may have major consequences on a non-citizen. It is very important that a non-citizen always consults with an Immigration Attorney before making a decision to plead guilty to crime and or a violation. It is also important that the non-citizens criminal attorney be in direct contact with the non-citizen's immigration attorney. We at Salmen Navarro & Associates have integrated these services into our practice. We will represent our client in any criminal matter that will jeopardize their immigration status. Our clients have the upmost security that we will represent them in their criminal case so that any decision rendered or plea taken would not interfere and/or jeopardize their immigration status.
Salmen Navarro & Associates also understands that the reasons why many non-citizens have plead guilty to a violation and/or a crime even though they were innocent was just to save time or simply lacked financial capacity to retain private counsel. We at Salmen Navarro & Associates will review our client's previous guilty plea and determine whether it is feasible to reopen the criminal matter so that our client could apply to an immigration benefit without the worrying about its immigration consequence.
Salmen Navarro & Associates represents employees who have been discriminated against on the basis of national origin. We represent employees and applicants for employment who have been discriminated against because of their national origins with regard to recruitment, hiring, termination, promotion, compensation, job training, harassment and other terms, conditions or privileges of employment.
We also represent individuals who have been subjected to national origin discrimination, involving the following areas:
English only rules. Such rules are only legitimate if they are enacted for nondiscriminatory reasons and if they are used to promote the safe and necessary operations of the employer's business.
Accent Discrimination. Unless the foreign accent of the employee or applicant materially interferes with the individual's ability to perform the job, the employer cannot base any employment decisions on an individual's foreign accent.
We vigorously litigate claims in which an employer attempts to retaliate against an individual for exercising their rights under the anti-discrimination laws. Indeed, it is unlawful to retaliate against an individual for opposing employment practices that the individual in good faith believes are discriminatory on the basis of national origin.
